Leadership Experience: Spearheading new software implementations; Managing New Applications through the Software Development Lifecycle; Head systems integration initiatives (HL7 and other interfacing); Contribute organizational support through best practices sharing.

Other Technical Skills/Experience:  MS SQL Administration; Server and Workstation Support and Maintenance (Windows); Web and PC Security; Web Server (IIS) Support and Maintenance; Windows OS Installation; Web Site and Domain Support and Maintenance, both in-house and third party hosting; Managing Verisign Certificates (SSL 128 bit).

Experience

While attending school, I was a programmer with Lincoln National Information Science (LNIS) Research & Development group (FORTRAN, PRIMOS, Voice Synthesis, Graphics, Data Analysis).

For the past several years (October, 1999 forward) I have been a Programmer Analyst and Systems Analyst at Marshall Medical Center in Placerville, California, were I develop in-house applications for intelligent use of organization data and work-flow enhancement tools.  I program in Cold Fusion MX, DHTML, VB, VBA and Javascript, Ajax, Transact-SQL, ASP and some .NET.  I also am a programmer for Marshall's external web site (www.marshallmedical.org).

Prior to my work at Marshall, and subsequent to my years in college, I worked on contract as a programmer and data analyst at such firms as Nintendo, CH2MHILL, Sverdrup, USWest NewVector Group, and I spent some years working at the Redmond, Washington campus of MicrosoftAt Microsoft I worked on developing methods to use MS Excel and other Office products to analyze and publish marketing data.  I also worked with the Microsoft Solutions Framework group, where I helped design technical documentation and product packaging and contributed to product marketing brainstorming meetings.

Specific Accomplishments & Milestones

1980-1982 Highlights:

    1) Developed FORTRAN Bar-, Line-, and Pie Charting Utility for LNIS.

    2) Developed Voice Synthesis Problems Notification Application to notify of system problems on a network of PRIME computers.

    3) Extended the HASH algorithm of an english-like end-user data query tool called INFO, to include custom commands.

1982-1984 Highlights

    1) Wrote a planet modeling application for an Astrophysics class.

    2) Wrote a number of physical systems simulations for experimental purposes.

1984-1986:

Wrote MS Excel macros to analyze and edit marketing data.

1986-1998:

Contract work (see paragraph 3 under "Experience" above)

1998 Highlights:

Developed MS Excel and Office Macros to process, analyze and report Lab Results for El Dorado Irrigation District's Water Quality Lab.  I had started work on a Significant Digits processing module prior to departure for the Marshall Medical position.

1999-Present Highlights:

    1) I provide leadership and on-going support for HL7 interface implementations at Marshall Medical.  I also develop peripheral applications to monitor or supplement interfacing needs, including charge auditing and non-standard systems interfaces (e.g. text-based ADT or other information transfers).  Additionally, I work to provide new directions and planning to improve and simplify interfacing at the hospital.

    2) I developed an ASP application utilizing MS's new (at that time) RDS ActiveX technology to provide a user interface to Hospital Lab Admitting staff for the maintenance and processing of Standing Lab Tests for patients.  I also provided all the employee training and managed the implementation of this Web-based application.

    3) Analyzed existing McKesson Pathways Materials Management (PMM) DOS-like parring application to develop an in-house MS Access VBA app to replace the limited PMM app, which did not provide bar code capability or a friendly GUI.  The new application allowed Materials Technicians to scan product bar codes around the hospital, enter quantities, and generate orders real-time in the Materials warehouse to replenish stocks of hospital supplies.  The application functioned like an add-on to the existing PMM app.  PMM is an MS SQL-based application.  I'm presently developing a web-based ASP version of this for a PDA with Win2003 Portable.

    4) I developed numerous stand-alone MS Access VBA applications for hospital use; used ASP, ColdFusion MX, and MS SQL Reporting Services to create web-based interfaces, tools and reports for Marshall Medical; wrote numerous server-side ASP and ColdFusion tools to manage web site electronic forms for registration and monetary transactions; developed SQL DTS applications and stored procedures to facilitate access to hospital data for process management and reporting; developed web-based applications to monitor and provide alerts for systems issues.

    5) I sit on the Project Management team at Marshall Medical and help provide analysis and direction for hospital wide applications, new and existing.
